We continued northward from Sikanni River to Fort Nelson. Along a stretch of road where we have driven a few times over the past few days, we again saw four wild horses. Although I captured this picture while a horse was in mid-flight, they actually do not seem very concerned with traffic.
Every day the scenery is amazing. We have been noticing how the trees are just beginning to bud; it’s early spring here.
While the horses were nice, we’re on a quest for more exotic animal sightings. Today we scored a moose. She was grazing along the side of the road. While we snapped her picture, she stared us down. We’re always extremely respectful of wild animals. Moose are huge animals who can run very fast. We prefer to keep some distance between them and us. We are guessing that we are seeing more animals along the side of the road because the plants are just beginning to bloom. The animals find more abundant grasses nearer to the road than deeper in the forest.
Our “chore” for today was laundry. Laundry on the road is often a different experience, and today was no exception. Where else would you find a Laundrymat that offered not only coin operated washers and dryers, and individual showers, but also Buffalo Meat for sale and the Spider Web Love Boutique? Look carefully at the sign.
To be fair, it is common in the far north for laundrymats to offer shower facilities. A shower, including a towel, costs $7.00. Buffalo meat for sale in a laundry is a new experience.

We actually did see people purchasing buffalo meat from some large freezers in the front of the laundrymat.
I have no idea to what the Spider Web Love Boutique referred. The building was small and there didn’t appear to be a back room! I guess that will remain one of life’s little mysteries.
