Victoria Day Weekend

Robert - Sunday, May 23
When we got here, we bought a wheel barrow load of firewood. Most days it has gotten too cold to sit out around the campfire after 6:00 p.m. Today we started the campfire early in the afternoon and just sat around enjoying the warmth. After dinner, we played a game called Pegs and Jokers. It is a fun game.
The main reason we are staying four days in this campground is that this is a holiday weekend in Canada. Tomorrow is Victoria Day. It marks the start of summer in the same manner as Memorial Day does in the US. Many Canadians use this weekend as their first camping outing of the season. Many campgrounds have all of their sites reserved this weekend and even this campground in the middle of nowhere has only a couple of empty sites.
