Scrub, Scrub, Scrub the Bugs

Leslie Thursday, September 25 and Friday, September 26, 2008

Thursday was a day of errands. Because we weren’t sure about limitations on bringing meat and vegetables into the US from Canada, our pantry was pretty bare. We have a plan to wash and wax the trailer and truck tomorrow so we needed to pick up some more supplies.

I thought you might enjoy seeing this rig with a snow blower. Robert chatted with the occupant. He said that the wind often blows over 100 mph in the winter and that he nearly froze here last winter.

Friday was rig washing day. We had accumulated a new batch of bugs on the front end cap. This cleaning was a major undertaking. We washed all surfaces twice and scrubbed all the caulking and seals. We started washing the rig at noon and finished after 6:00 pm. Someone in a neighboring site offered to lend us his 5 ft. ladder which helped reaching high on the rig. Lots of neighbors made comments about all our washing but the rig really does look nice. Even this rabbit stopped by to see how clean it was.

My muscles were aching from all the scrubbing. We just got things put away in time for the debates on TV.
