We left Williwaw for the town of Kenai on the western side of the Kenai Pennusula. We had dry camped for four consecutive days. We needed to fill our water tank.
As we left the campground we noticed this funny rig. It is actually an Airstream with a patio on the roof! See the backs of the benches. Apparently they no longer make this model but I thought it looked unusual. From a search on the web, we discovered that it has an interior hardwood staircase leading up to the roof-top patio.

As we continued south on the Seward Highway the weather seemed to think about breaking. We thought there might be a sun behind all the gray clouds. After about 40 miles we turned west on the Sterling Highway. As we came into the town of Copper Center the sun broke through. I could actually see shadows! The scenery was unbelievable.

We’ll be returning to Cooper Center on our travels from Homer back to Seward. I had tried for a reservation for this weekend but the place I wanted to stay was booked. (I wanted to stay at the Princess Lodge where a worker was attacked by a grizzly bear last week.)
We continued on through Soldotna to Kenai. We’re staying on a bluff overlooking Cook’s Inlet. The wind blows from the north – hard— all the time. While the high temperature may be 55 degrees – the wind chill makes it feel as if it is freezing!

Here's a map of Kenai.
