Because we’re back to the coast, the rain has resumed in force. We arrived at the Kenai Princess on a beautiful day but the rain followed. We did enjoy several great meals in their dining rooms and on Thursday left for Seward.
There were lots of mushrooms on the edge of the forest. This one was 6 inches across the top.
Before we left I checked out the mushing dog pen across the site from our rig. There were several dogs and a litter of new puppies.
The woman dog musher was staying in a small trailer. Apparently she mushes in the winter and makes presentations in the summer.
We’ve been to Seward twice before – once in 1988 and the second time in 2006. Seward is a pretty seaside town; fishing is the major activity. We’re staying in a nice RV site a few miles from town. When we arrived we were offered a pull-through site. We explained that we don’t mind a back-in and the office staff offered us the opportunity of select our site among a list they offered. We selected a back-in site with a view of the woods. The site is huge and we even put out our outdoor rug that we haven’t used in many years.
Our new friends Jo and Fred are staying at the same park. On Thursday evening we hosted drinks in our rig followed by a delightful dinner at a nearby restaurant, Exit Glacier Salmon Bake, http://www.sewardalaskacabins.com/ that we had visited previously.
