Seward Fish and Rain

Here's Seward.

Friday began with steady rain. We had previously visited a small fish processor on the way in to Seward. Because we want to buy a considerable quality of fish to carry back to the lower 48, we stopped by the fish processor to check prices. They appear to be less expensive than the prices we had previously noted in Anchorage so it is likely that we will buy all our fish while we are here.

If we buy fish in Seward, that will change our future travel plans. After we fill our small freezer with fish, it will be necessary for us to have electric hook-ups every night. While our refrigerator/freezer switches from electric to propane, the small freezer that we bought to transport fish is solely dependent on 110 electric. That means no more camping in federal or state parks.

Later on Friday we walked through downtown Seward. It was raining so we didn’t walk very long. These pictures show the murals on the walls of buildings in Seward. Notice the ravens that are commonly portrayed in native Alaskan art.
