Saturday, rain, rain, rain.
When we went to the seafood processor on Thursday and got rockfish we noticed that they have a small counter for cooked seafood. The counter is open for breakfast and lunch only during fishing season . Everyone appeared to be eating "beer bits" – also jokingly called white King Salmon. This is the local fish and chips dish. Beer bits are actually beer batter fried halibut bits. We had decided to return on Saturday for lunch because we already had left over fish from Thursday dinner to finish on Friday. Yum. Beer bits are great. I ate half an order and Robert finished both his and mine.

In fact there were so many beer bits that even though we have two pounds of fresh salmon remaining, we skipped dinner.
The rest of Saturday we checked out the remaining stores in town and actually got seats in the library for internet access. The library is about the size of a two car garage and has only 14 seats. We saw a young man sitting outside under the roof overhang in the rain using his laptop.
Sunday, rain, rain, rain. The temperature has never gotten about 53 degrees. This is a cold rain.
We’ve spent most of today in self-taught computer classes. I brought "Classroom in a Book" for Photoshop along and I’ve been working my way through the lessons. Robert has resumed his Spanish studies on Rosseta Stone.
There are a number of permanent residents in this campground. One has a wood stove in his old trailer. Look at the size of that stovepipe.

Tomorrow we get on the ferry to Sitka. This is a 12 or 13 hour ferry ride, depending on the tides. We’re supposed to arrive in Sitka around 1:00 am on Tuesday. We’re hoping that we (Robert) won’t have to back down the ramp on to the ferry at either end.
