Quiet Day

Robert, Tuesday, August 12
Rained today. We didn’t do much in the morning. In the afternoon we went up to the lodge for the WiFi. After that we ate dinner in the restaurant. The food was good, the service was fair, the prices were reasonable, and there was a loud, obnoxious woman who made dining less than pleasant. She was carrying on a conversation with some people at another table that was 20 feet away from her. She actually was talking loud enough so that everyone in the restaurant could hear her every word. I am guessing she was drunk because how else could she not notice the dirty looks she was getting from almost everyone eating there. When we left, I told the hostess that they might get more people to eat in their restaurant if they were to tell that woman to shut up. The hostess she something like, "Oh, wasn’t she terrible?" Tomorrow I am going to write something on one of their comment cards and it isn’t going to be very nice. Well, I hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow as we would like to take a walk they have along the top of the bluff overlooking the river. Leslie and I both agreed that having a lot of time on this trip means that we don’t feel cheated when we spend several days just taking it easy.
