A Day in Homer

Robert, Thursday, August 7
We hit the library today for its WiFi hotspot. While the hotspot is free for two hours a day, it is slow. Not quite like paint drying but only a little faster. We sure do wish we had good a WiFi connection in Homer. There are a number we can receive that require paying but even those just aren’t very strong. As the speed of a WiFi connection is directly proportional to the signal strength, we don’t want to pay for poor service. For most of the day it was beautiful with lots of sunshine. In the early afternoon some very dark clouds appeared and the temperature dropped precipitously. Then we had a brief shower. The good news is that it changed back to sunshine almost as fast as it clouded up. We did go to the grocery store to see if we could find fresh fish but we were unsuccessful. We grilled dinner outside. It was cool but clear. We had a campfire but we got cold and so we came back inside and crashed.
