Robert - Wednesday, May 26
Today was for a trip to the hot springs. There is a boardwalk from the campground to the springs. The walk to get there is about one-half mile. Without the boardwalk, the walk would be through muskeg. Muskeg must be an Indian word for “swamp.” At the springs there are changing rooms and a restroom. The springs themselves are basically pools in the ground. There are steps leading down to the water but the bottom of the pools is loose rock and the sides have plants growing right down to the water level. In the pools there are several benches to sit on.
After the trip to the springs, we got showers as the water in the springs smells like sulphur. It is not too strong but you still want a shower. Not too much else for this day and we leave for Watson Lake in the morning.
