I like Whitehorse. It is a neat, orderly, and friendly place. It is large enough to have decent stores and it has a lot to see and do. We all went to town and first went to the Visitor’s Centre. Of all of the Visitor’s Centres in Canada, this is one of the best and perhaps it is the best. In any case, for any visitor to Whitehorse it is a must see.
After that we went to lunch. We got several recommendations at the Visitor’s Centre and we went to the closest. It was packed with folks who did not look like tourists so we took that as a good sign. We decided to walk around and look at some of town while the crowd finished their lunch. After about 45 minutes we went back and had a very good lunch.
We had planned on visiting the S.S. Klondike but after lunch it started spitting rain and it looked like it would pour down any minute so we called it a day and returned to the campground.
