Quiet Independence Day

Robert, Friday, July 4

We had a really quiet Independence Day. We got Wifi at the campground, hooked up a printer, and took care of a lot of computer things. To catch our flights to and from Brooks Camp, we need to have paper copies of a letter that was emailed to us. This was the first time we have an operating printer since we left home. We made a long list of all of the things we want to get done in Anchorage tomorrow. Fireworks in Alaska seem to be a lot different from the lower 48. They are illegal in most places. Also, it never really gets dark at night. At midnight you could read a newspaper outside. It is twilight all night long. Not really dark enough to have the same effect as when it is pitch black outside. We watched the fireworks on TV from Washington, DC and went to bed.
