We woke up this morning to sunshine! What an unusual experience. After working on a number of things around the rig, we headed out to the Palmer Flea Market. Unfortunately the Flea Market would end about an hour before we arrive and there were few booths left to visit.
Later I spent an hour or so researching our next travel points. I was trying to take all the ratings out of the Good Sam Directory and annotate the Church’s Camping in Alaska book. It was a tedious process because each book uses different reference points for the location of the campgrounds.
I think that I have worked out our travel plans for at least the next two weeks. We’re headed for the Kenai Peninsula, first to Cooper Center, then on to Kenai. Cooper Center is the location where a seasonal worker was attacked by a bear a few days ago. She was hiking near the lodge and strangely was attacked by the bear. We’ll be more careful if we end up there!
While it seemed as if we would escape rain for the day – we were wrong. In the early evening black clouds gathered on the horizon.
Although we had planned to cook dinner outside, we decided to retreat inside for a wonderful dinner of stir-fired veggies and teriyaki meatballs. Yum.
Tomorrow we'll get the water pump repaired (again). We plan to stay in a state park tomorrow night so we won't have internet access. Tuesday we have an appointment to have the tires on the trailer aligned. Tuesday we'll leave for the Kenai. More information later....
