When we got going today, we decided to see if there was anything in Valdez that we missed the first time around. We drove to the only place where we were told er could buy fresh fish. It was a fish processing plant and you walk in through the break area where 50 or so workers were taking a break. Then you actually walk into the area where there is a production line. Finally you climb the stairs to the office. After all of this they had no fresh fish, only frozen. We then walked the area along the docks where you would describe it as “downtown.” We drove around to see if we had missed anything else. We hadn’t. When we got here, we thought we might stay five nights but we only paid for four. We decided that four nights it is. We also want to get a little further from the coast where the weather has been better. The best weather we have had here is no rain and mostly cloudy skies. We did eat at a little place right on the edge of the campground. They advertize that they have the best hamburgers in the world. They were good but not that good.

We ate at the hamburger restaurant at your campground twice when we were there. We initially came for the advertised hamburgers, but once there, ordered the Fish Taco, and the Halibut & Chips instead. We found them to be so good, we made a later return visit and just shared the Halibut & Chips. So never had the hamburgers, and glad we didn't miss anything.
If you like halibut, you should try the Halibut & Chips. I don't remember what the fish was in the fish taco, but it was equally good and very large.

Jo,
We decided to go back to the hamburger place based upon your recommendation. We both ordered the Halibut & Chips and we both thought it was much better than the hamburgers. I think your menu choices there were the right ones although we didn't try the Fish Taco. We hit the road in the morning so we won't get a chance to try that.
