Last Day in Prince Rupert

Robert, Wednesday, May 28
Today was overcast and damp. It wasn’t raining but the relative humity must have been 100%. There was a low overcast that looked like it was about 200 feet overhead. The high temperature was in the mid 50s.
I did get the valve stems put on the truck today. That provides a little piece of mind that the stems won’t fail due to the pressure sensors on them.
We drove into town to do some sightseeing today. We did find the tourist area when we saw a cruise ship at the dock. There is all of one block on one side of the street of gift shops. We walked around, stopped at the Safeway to get some juice for Leslie, and something for breakfast tomorrow morning. Tonight I’ll hook up, fill the fresh water tank, and drain the waste water tanks. In the morning the only thing will be to unhook the power and put the slides in.
We have to decide what we are going to carry on the ferry. We will carry things like water bottles and cup of noodles. As the ferry may be cold we will wear our fleece and Gore-tex jackets. We only spend about six hours on this first ferry trip so we may learn what to bring on the next leg. Cody and Molly have to stay in the trailer. We have a way to confine them to the front of the trailer. Our reason is that if they get in the main part of the trailer they would be hard to get out with the slides in. If they get behind the slides, they would be crushed when the slides go out. We could leave them in the truck but we are going to try the front of the trailer for this first leg. In any case we won’t put the slides out until we have them in our hands.
